I'm happy to announce that the 01.00.04 version of the Active Directory Provider has passed through the DotNetNuke Release Tracker. While there are only about a dozen bug fixes in the release and no new features a couple of the bug fixes are significant performance-wise.
The fixes for this release are:
Changes/Fixes for this release:
ACD-5737 - Auto Authentication Not Working On Multi-Portal Installs
ACD-6760 - Default Profile Values Are Not Applied.
ACD-6960 - Server Bogs Down When Using Synchronization
ACD-7077 - Preferred Locale not populated on new account
ACD-7243 - Uknown UserCreateStatus value encountered. Parameter name: UserRegistrationStatus
ACD-7422 - Role Synchronization Not Working On W2K Domain Controllers
ACD-7748 - ActiveDirectory redirects web service files to the WindowsSignin.aspx file.
ACD-7532 - Typo in pop up help for email domain on windows auth provider config screen
ACD-7664 - Auto Login IP Addresses
ACD-8217 - Site Crashes Under Medium Trust
The only real visual change administrators will see is in the Auto Login IP Addresses. In the .03 version an administrator could put a partial IP address (e.g. 192.168) and any user that had an IP address that started with that would get logged in. Because of a flaw in my IP range logic (known as "sometimes the math didn't work out") only valid IP addresses are allowed. So 192.168 would need to be changed to 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255).
Another significant change is that Role Synchronization should be much faster and consistent (in my testing it dropped to a 1/4 to 1/2 of the time it took before).

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Hi
Is it correct that the source package and the install package are the same thing?
I Installed the new Active Directory provider. It works perfect in our test setup. However one of our customers requires to have employeeNumber or EmployeeID in DNN. Both are optional values in AD. I set up DNN with both properties for user accounts. I also gave them default values, nothinghappended1" and "nothinghappened2". I Filled employeeNumber and employeeID with values. Then i Logged in into DNN with the AD test account.(I made sure the account did not exist in DNN). After logging in I checked the user properties. nothinghappened1 and nothinghappened2 where still there.
So I wanted to check the source. But the source zip does not contain any source.
Can I get the source and/or do I actually need to adapt the source to achieve my requirement?

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
If you look in the source version you'll see a file called SourceFiles.resources file. Change the extension to .zip and the source files are in that .zip file.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Hello,
I am trying to install 01.00.04 while I already have 01.00.03 installed. I get following error message:
Failure ExceptionSystem.Exception: Dnn load failed, aborting at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaDnnLoaderFactory.GetDnnAdapter() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
I'm getting a javascript error FCKeditorAPI is undefined when clicking the next button after accepting the license agreement. It will not let me proceed. I'm using the install.zip package on DNN version 4.09.

I receive the same FCKeditor API error when trying to install the new AD 1.0.4 on a 4.9 build.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
There's a bug in the FCKEditor that was packaged with 4.9 (or in the package install code). I've posted a work-around to the problem in this thread (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/255481/scope/posts/Default.aspx).

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Hi,
I'm having problems installing the AD provider. When I'm installing, I'll get to the page where I have to accept the License. I check the checkbox, click Next, and that's just it. Noting happens, not moving to the next page, it just 'freezes'. In the bottom of the IE- and Firefox screen is an 'error in the page' alert. I'm usen DNN 04.09.00 and AD provider 01.00.04. Tried it through IE7 and Firefox. Are there any module requirements for the provider? Thanx in advance!

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
There was a new version of the FCKEditor supplied with DNN 4.9 and that's where the error is coming from. It has been suggested that you clear the cache on your browser(s) and try again. If that doesn't work then look at the link I posted in the comment just above yours.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Our location has about 12 subnets so I placed the ip range 172.16.1.1-172.16.253.254 for the autologin field. Is there something I should do so that it 'more reliably' detetcs the user is inside the network and log that user in automatically. Worked fine with 'User A' then logged out and back in and it has not worked since. Thoughts?

Re: Rossel1
Is this line in the section of your web.config ()? It should be the last line in that section. If it is and you're still having a problem with auto-login then please post in the Authentication forum.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Jenny. The easiest way to work-around the problem is to use the FCKEditor dll from an older version of DNN and then once the provider is installed you can copy the new one back in.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Is there some sort of configuration document that tells you how to set this up and I just haven't found it yet? Got it installed, just need to understand how to configure it.
Thanks, Jamie

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
I'm feeling like a bit of a bum, but I can't find the download for the install package. When I go to the project downloads page all I get is is the skin with no content.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
Jethro: Please look through the documentation for the provider that's available from www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ProviderAuthentication/Downloads/tabid/852/Default.aspx. I suspect you need to use impersonation in your web.config

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
I am wondering does this provider sync phone number, fax and all that. As well can we modify LDAP passwords through DNN?

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.04 Released
I as well jet the same error that Jethro (object not set to an instance of an object), and I have read the documentation well. I'm using the computer's administrator for authentication in the web.config, what am I doing wrong?
I had it working perfectly in DNN 4.9; my current release is 5
