Yet another Wiki update! The ever wonderful Sebastian failed the Wiki release on Sunday evening (just joshing you Sebastian, sorta ), last night I made a few changes per his recommendations, and then I finished things up this evening.

I've tested and repackaged the 04.01.00 release and put it into the release tracker. You can track the progress via this page here on DotNetNuke.com.

Hopefully the testing will move along quickly over the next week or two as there weren't major changes that required fixing. I'll post another update next week with the progress of the module through the release tracker.

Wiki Update for May 30th

It has been a bit since I posted a Wiki status update so here goes a quick one for this Friday evening. There is one last issue to be tracked down in the WIki before we can recompile/package and submit it to the release tracker. I hope to track this down later tonight or on Saturday and have it submitted back into the tracker, hopefully for an accelerated trip through the process. I'll post another update when it is packaged and submitted. Hope everyone has a great weekend, I'll be working on the Wiki and hopefully working on the two project cars

Friday night update: This Wiki release, 04.01.00 will be compiled to run against DotNetNuke 4.8.3, due to all of the security fixes in the release, and some changes that will make the Wiki content more secure. If you absolutely can't upgrade, once the release happens

Today is a Leap Day! 317 days ago.....

317 days ago I submitted the 04.00.01 release of the Wiki module into the DNN Project Release process. I am ashamed af that fact. It has been way too long between release submissions.

However, I am proud to say that the next version of the DotNetNuke Wiki Module 04.01.00 has been submitted to the release tracker! There's always a chance it will get kicked out of the tracker for a problem, but those problems should be minimal. I would hope to see the module officially released sometime in the next month.

When the release makes it through the process I will be sure to highlight some of the changes to the changes to the module. For now though you can check out the project in Gemini to see some of the bug fixes and new features.

Quick Wiki Update

I know there are some folks out there looking for a Wiki update! Here it is, though it's not likely what you want to read :) The Wiki module hasn't made much progress over the past few weeks. I did implement some code changes from Stefan Cullman, but haven't had a chance to finish up the testing on these changes and get a release together. My hope is to be able to get some of that done next week and try to get the module into the release cycle. This weekend I'm off to start my racing season in Adel Georgia, a long drive for what will amount to probably 8 minutes of racing, but I'm excited to get the car out and see how I can do.

Next week I'll be back to work on the Wiki.

Wiki Module Update for 2/5/2008

I know a lot of you are wondering, what happened to all the progress that was being made on the Wiki module in the month of December? Well January came and I had a few other projects that I had to finish up. Now that those are complete I'm back onto the Wiki module. My goal is to have the final enhancements for this release into the code and ready for some testing by the end of the week. After that I'll have a bit of a beta period to make sure we have the bugs worked out and then will move the module into the release process. The current goal is to have the module started in the release process by 2/15.

More updates later in the week!

Wiki Module Update for 11/12/2007

A quick update before I turn it in for the evening (really it is morning already). I've spent quite a bit of time on the Wiki module today, testing and debugging a few things.

The main focus today has been tweaking the ability to define some items to better improve SEO for the Wiki Pages. With the new functionality you can addTitle, Description, and Keywords to each Wiki topic, allowing you to define a different Title than than "Name" of the Wiki item. This title gets used in the Browser Title, as well as on the display page as the title. The description and keywords are being used for the Meta-description and Meta-keyword fields in the HTML of the pages as they are built by DNN.

This feature should greatly improve SEO functionality within the module, as well as make it easier to customize the Wiki content without having to create a new Item if you want to change the title of an entry.

I'll post more later this week. I'm going to possibly do a "beta" release of the code later this week, with hopes of some outside testing and feedback before I submit the package to the review process. Stay tuned for more information here on my blog.

Wiki Status Updated for 10/25/2007

I spent a few hours last night (while sitting in a Globalization Econ class) working on the Wiki module. I've got some of the bugs I added in last week squashed though I need to do a bit more testing. My testing with 4.6.2 was resulting in a few problems that weren't apparently in 4.5.*.

I'll post another blog next week with another update, unless I get it finished up this weekend.

GO RED SOX!

Wiki Update: 10/18/2007

Quick Wiki Update for October 18th, 2007!

What's the deal? Busy busy busy month, I won't say more than that (well that and check out my new ride! -> www.corvettez06.org)

Alright, back to the Wiki:

I've been working on new features for the Wiki. Tonight I setup the database structure to allow you to define a Page Title, Meta-Description and Meta-Keywords per Wiki item, this should help greatly for SEO.

I'm still working on the new Add A Page functionality, so you can create an entry directly, without having to [[Create a page this way]].

Current Estimate, and anyone who reads this blog should know it's only an estimate, is to have a release into the cycle by next Friday. I had hoped to get it done before I headed to Tulsa tomorrow but I can tell you that sure ain't gonna happen, especially since I have to get up in 4 hours to take my wife to the Hospital for sinus surgery.

Find me in Tulsa this weekend at Tulsa Tech Fest www.tulsatechfest.com, I may even give you a free shirt if you can tell me what my new ride is!

Wiki update for 10/5/2007

I realize there is a large demand for the Wiki module, and I'm doing my best trying to get this next release to happen soon. It's been a strange year for me, I didn't race as much as I have in past years, mostly because I've been far busier than ever before. Work is booming and keeping me busy, which unfortunately makes it hard to get a lot done with the Wiki.

Racing season is nearly over (2 more local events this year), I'm hoping to revamp the Wiki team this winter and have a good push for new/much needed features and functionality for 2008. Though, before January comes I hope to have a release or two out the door as well.

Now, what's going on with the Wiki at this moment? With some motivation from NukeAlex I've been trying to get a handle on some tasks in Gemini. I've been working in the source code, making fixes, a few enhancements, and various other items.

So what's next? There are still some more enhancements I would like to get into the code over the next week. I'll blog about what specifically will make it into the next release, hopefully that blog will happen sometime next week, but no promises.

Now, on a personal note. I do realize this project hasn't moved as fast as some people would like, I will take full responsibility for that. But I must admit, the folks who like to bitch and moan in the forums sure aren't motivating me to get the project moving again. I guess perhaps my personallity is a bit odd, but if I get harped on that actually makes me want to do less work, rather than more work.

If you really want to get me motivated on the Wiki project, do this. Sign up and attend OpenForce07. www.openforce07.com While you're in Vegas, find me, I'm speaking on Day 2 of OpenForce, and I will surely be around all week. Come find me, buy me a drink, shake my hand, say hello. I'm a people person, I love to meet new people, talk to new people, and I would love to meet all of you out in Vegas, even YodaRocks......
