I have just bought a dotntenuke website.

Hi, this may seem like a simple question, but i have never used dotnetnuke before.

I have bought a business which includes 3 websites.  One of these websites is a dotnetnuke website, www.multilingo.co.uk.  I have the username and password for them but i wanted to know how i could get access to change it.  It also hosts a database of translators, which i want to keep as it is.  I do have a SQL server backup of this database but it is updating everyday with new translators.

 What do i do?

Is there a link to a video i can watch to help me with this?

Hi Mark ~

There are lots of videos available here as well as user manuals that you can download. One thing that is helpful is to know which version of DotNetNuke your site is running. You can tell that by logging in as the host user and navigating to the "Host Settings" page on the "Host" menu (this video will show you how to do that).

From there, we'll need to figure out if your previous website owner used purchased or custom modules to run your site. But before we do that, get back to us with what version you're running and we can take it from there.

Cheers

once you login, you should get displayed the control panel at the top, which allows you to edit your content. There are a number of videos on this site explaining how to administer DNN and manage content. Besides you should perform frequent backups of the database and all files, to protect your investments. Your hosting provider should be able to assist you with this.
