DotNetNuke Community Recognition Program

DotNetNuke thrives on the participation of inquisitive visitors, enthusiasts and experts alike. Our Community Recognition Program provides opportunity for active members to distinguish themselves and for newcomers to get acquainted with folks in our dynamic, growing community.  We believe that people who are creating value for others should receive recognition for their participation, contribution and support of the DotNetNuke Community.

Members are recognized throughout areas of the site including our Home page, Community page and the Hall of Fame.

Recognition Levels

The program awards points for each person’s contributions to the site. As a member earns more points, he or she will progress through levels of recognition, starting as a Newcomer and becoming a Champion.  Level is determined by points awarded over the course of the previous year.

Questions About the Program

Q: Do I have any points?

If you've registered on the site, then "yes". You've already earned your first point!

Q: Where can I see who has the most points?

Please visit our DotNetNuke Hall of Fame.

Q: What is the difference between current points and lifetime points?

Current points provide a measure of activity in the past year and determine a members level.  This is to help you distinguish members with current expertise.  Lifetime points are a cumulative measure of points awarded for all time.

Q: Why do some activities have maximum daily awards?

We want to encourage members to participate in ways that add value to other members of the community.  There are reasonable maximums for some activities where quality is adversely affected by quantity.  Forum posting is a good example, a few high quality responses are far more helpful than a large number of "quick" responses.

Q: Will there ever be other ways to earn points?

Absolutely!  We're just getting started with the Program and we have many more Community activities and initiatives in the works.  We'll be making sure that things we do in the future are measurable and that there are opportunities for everyone to participate.

Q: How do you make it into the top movers list or onto the home page?

The module on the Home page is a rotator which cycles through the top contributors from the previous day on page refresh. The top movers list on the Community page shows a list of the top 10 contributors from the previous day and a scrolling display similar to the home page.  All anyone has to do to make it onto the list is engage in the activities to earn points.  By making it a function of daily activity, it makes it more possible for virtually anyone in our community to have a big day!
