Manually adding 'logout'?

On a website I've done - where there's no current need for users to be able to log in, I've been trying to add a logout function just for admin.

I've just used a text/html module and included the logout (login) link as it would normally appear but this isn't doing anything, just reloading the page.

<a id="dnn_dnnLOGIN_cmdLogin" class="SkinObject" href=" __doPostBack('dnn$dnnLOGIN$cmdLogin','')">Logout</a>

What have I done wrong?  Or is there a better way to go about this?

Re: Manually adding 'logout'?

David - either call login.aspx / logoff.aspx directly or include <dnn:LOGIN runat="server" id="dnnLOGIN" CssClass="YourClass" /> in your skin and "hide" it by blending the links in with your background color.

Re: Manually adding 'logout'?

Thanks Tom

The logoff.aspx did the trick!  I wasn't wanting to hide anything visually in the skin but the direct .aspx link was certainly the solution I was hoping for!

Cheers

Hi Peter

There's no 'logout' module because one simply isn't needed.

Either <dnn:LOGIN runat="server" id="dnnLOGIN" CssClass="YourClass" /> included in the skin will do the same job (includes login if someone is logged in)...

or

a link with logoff.aspx will do the trick!

eg.  to create a "logoff" module:

  1. add a text/html module
  2. set for viewing by registered users only
  3. add a text link or image link to logoff.aspx

That is effectively a "logoff module"!

Cheers

David
