DNN Overall Search include Blog Module entries? 

Hello,

I'm trying to setup a resource portal that will include using the Blog module for articles, the repository and/or documents modules for more in depth documents and downloadable training videos. I thought that someone could search only in the Blog module for the articles OR use the DNN search for the entire site which would include all contents entered in the blog module as well as the other modules. It is not picking this up. Is this something that can be configured or not?

Hi Kris,

you can leverage on DNN's built in search engine if you desire. This way all the contents will be indexed the same way of the others in your portal through the ISearchable interface. This feature is disabled by default, but you can turn it on and off in the Module Settings, using Enable DNN Search. Be aware that if multiple instances of the module are present on your portal, then only one should have this option enabled, unless your contents will be indexed twice. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

I'm using Blog Module 03.04.00 on DNN 04.08.02

I could not find the option on enabling DNN search for all posts in blog module.

Can someone point me exactly where the option is?

  1. Select Module Options from the Most recent blog entry module menu.
  2. Go to the Advanced settings section.
