User Configurable Column Suggestion

I'm not sure of your plans for UDT but I find this one of the most functional modules and I thank you for your efforts on this project. One modification that I thought I would make if I had the time, was to include the capability to configure a columns visible property based on roles. As you know the current capability is to show all columns not marked as visible = false. My suggestion would be to defaultly show to roles determined by the modules settings but to allow exclusion from that set of roles. For example, I have a UDT module that is set to allow users in roles A and B to view the content. As I add columns to the table I have one of those columns that I want only users in role A to see and not users in role B. Obviously a visible = false setting would over ride any role settings on the column. You folks may have already considered this idea and if so I cant wait to get the module when released. If not, I certainly hope that you atleast consider the proposal.

Thank you,

Rick

Re: User Configurable Column Suggestion

Rick,

Next release will not modify any visibility of either rows or columns in dependency of user or user role. Saying that I need to state that there might be a solution- we have added xsl-rendering support, so an experienced designer  is able to write a stylesheet that fulfil your needs.
