Create Blog automatically for new User

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has done any work to automatically create a blog when a new user is created in DNN. If so, what stored procedures or VB code need to be modified.

Re: Create Blog automatically for new User

Gordon,

this is not so simple.

There are a number of settings which are necessary if a new blog is created.

And the second problem is, that there is no direct link between the registration process of a new user and the blog module.

I would not say it is not possible, but it is more difficult and more complex then it seems after the first look.

Re: Create Blog automatically for new User

HP ~

I think this is actually worth investigating... honestly it has elements of an enhancement that I would like to see as well.

Basically, as the portal administrator, I would like to establish some settings that bloggers on my site cannot override.  Say, for example, that I wanted to require all blogs to have approved comments, or something like that.  Could we not perhaps establish some default values for the settings fields?  They could be settable by the Portal Administrator.  The blog could be named by the Users name from their profile, seeded with their email address from the users profile, blog title and other settings from defaults set by admin.

Your thoughts?

Re: Create Blog automatically for new User

Scott,

sure, the idea with the default settings sounds really good. I have already an idea how it could be implemented.

And I believe if this feature is available one more step is needed.

An admin function to create a blog for a spcific user. What does you mean ?
