Two dotnetnuke installations under one domain

I have one dotnetnuke installation under www.mysite.com, now I want a second dotnetnuke installation under sub.mysite.com, so the two sites will share the same root domain name (mysite.com) but have different dotnetnuke installations and different databases. (Note, I am not talking about child/parent portals. I know you can have subdoman pointed to a child/parent portal. That's not what I want.)

Is this possible? If so how to make it happen?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Re: Two dotnetnuke installations under one domain

I have done it, and it works. Don't know if it makes a lot of sense though unless you really need to have 2 different versions of DNN.

Anyway, you'll need to unzip your DNN install file to two different locations, then set up two applications in the IIS with their unique host headers. Follow the installation instructions twice. It's that simple. :)

Re: Two dotnetnuke installations under one domain

Hi Vera,

Thanks for getting back.

I've tried it but failed. I created  "sub.mysite.com" and have this sub domain pointed to the second installation folder. I think I set up everything else correctly (including the default page, .net version, permission, db connection, etc). It just doesn't work. But of course if I use a different domain name ( www.mysite2.com) and have it pointed to the second installation folder, it started to work perfectly.

Did I do anything wrong? Thanks!
