I have to upgade a clients site that is a customized version of DNN 1.0. I cannot find any information on upgrading to the newest version from this very old version.

I know were jumping frameworks but should the database not be upgradable? I dont mind redoing the layout and skin and stuff, but they have a huge membership database with different roles etc anyone know of a tutorial? I am new tothe DNN world as well which m sure doesnt help :)

Thanks!

Wow!  Sounds like a project that a school system I know of was putting together at the beginning of this year.  A scary project.  Someone will likely come in behind me a leave a better answer, but you are looking at possibly beginning with a newer version and importing the membership and content information into it.  Then, there is a suggested upgrade path to the current version.  I will post the link if I find it.

Sebastion Leupold suggests upgrading to v4.4.1 before moving to 4.7:

For versions prior to that, I am not sure off of the top of my head.

It looks like the earliest version you can start with is 2.00.04:

Assuming that you have a sandbox to work in, that looks like a good path to try.  And from v4.01, upgrade to 4.4.1 and then to 4.7.
