IIS returns 404 error when trying to load aspx pages

I'm hoping this is an appropriate place for this post, I couldn't find a better place for it.  I wasn't sure where to go with this either, but since I am trying to work with dotnetnuke I figured I'd go here.

I'm new to IIS, I've always ran linux web servers, so I'm not entirely sure how to deal with strange occurances.  The server is loading html files perfectly fine but if you try to load an aspx file, IIS just returns a 404 error as if the file just doesn't exist.

I'm running Windows 2003 Web Edition, SP2, .Net framework v2, IIS v6.  Also, if it helps, heres a URL to the site: http://69.112.139.157:8081/dnn/ (as proof of that folder actually exists, you can see that the logo file loads fine here: http://69.112.139.157:8081/dnn/logo.gif )

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: IIS returns 404 error when trying to load aspx pages

In the IIS Manager you might find an "Web Service Extensions" section, in there you should be able to enable asp.net v.20

That generally is the issue, by default it seems to be turned off.

Re: IIS returns 404 error when trying to load aspx pages

Yep, got it. Thanks.

So... now that it actually acknowledges the page exists... I have runtime errors, but it doesnt tell me what they are.  The suggestion that the resulting page gives me for turning the customerrors mode to off doesnt seem to do anything, I still get the same page with no error detail.  Any ideas?

Re: IIS returns 404 error when trying to load aspx pages

I believe customerrors is case sensative, try "Off" instead of "off"
