Multiple default.aspx cause problems?

I'm not sure if this is even the right place to post this...but here goes. I'm currently running DNN 4.8.2 on Server 2003, IIS6, MSSQL 2003. On the same computer is another application that has a default.aspx file. Both of these applications are being served up by IIS. They are installed in different folders, running on different ports, and have different 'Containers?'. One is under default website, and one is served up at the same level as Default website. If I load DNN first, and then try and load the other application, I get the following error.

The XML page cannot be displayed

Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

The character '>' was expected. Error processing resource 'http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd'. Line 31, Position 3

  -- Typi
--^

IF I come here (dotnetnuke.com), or to my localhost version, the other site loads fine. It is only when loading the DNN portal from the same computer as the other application. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as i'm not getting much response from the vendor of the other software.

Thanks for any help!

Rob

Re: Multiple default.aspx cause problems?

check your web site configuration in IIS, I assume there is an error. Make sure, that .Net 2.0 and 1.1 applications do not share the same application pool.

Re: Multiple default.aspx cause problems?

They are both ASP.NET 2.0, and they both have different Application Pools. :( If it helps, if I start up the other site, then go to DNN, it works fine. It's just DNN to other that doesn't work.

Their solution, don't have DNN up, doesn't work for me, but I need to be able to speak intelligently about it so I can force the issue.

Thanks,

Rob
