How to install external modules?

If I downloaded the source code from http://www.codeplex.com/imageeditor/SourceControl/ListDownloadableCommits.aspx, how can I install it?

There is Import Module Definition or should I use Install New Module ?

If I want to create a eshop site with ranking of product, does it has any ready modules for it?

Re: How to install external modules?

If the module is "packaged" for deployment you can install it through the INstall New Module, if it is not and requires compilation, you should probably use the import functionality.

We've got training classes in August that cover a lot of these basics for DNN.

Re: How to install external modules?

Hi

I downloaded the Chat_01.00.01_Source.zip from http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ModuleChat/tabid/965/Default.aspx

I extracted it and viewed a lot of source. Where should I put that folder to? Should I put it under Admin folder? and rebuild it? Will "Chat" appear in the drop down menu of adding new modules in control panel? So, that I can place it to right pane.

I use VS2005 and MSSQL 2000 server.

Thanks for help

Re: How to install external modules?

You should be able to install as you would any other module in your portal. Then you'll be able to open it under the DesktopModules/Chat directory.
