Re: Setting up DotNetNuke on Windows Vista

Hi Dwayne,

Thanks for the reply.  I had checked all of that with no luck.

However it is now working though I am not sure why it is (which is always a horrible way for a problem to resolve itself).  I suspect I changed something but I couldn't tell you what it was.

Oh well, at least I can work on my module (for the time being).

Jon

Re: Setting up DotNetNuke on Windows Vista

I final got DotNetNuke to install om Vista

First give the folder netvork service rights.

copyed the release.config to web.config

config the database connection

opened the ISS 7.0 manager, and add the dotnetnuke folder as a new application

basic i did what Michael Washington showed in the guide

http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/DNN4_DevelopmentEnvironment/DNNDevelopmentWindowsVista.htm

After that i clicked on every icon in the iss dotnetnuke application, every time i came with a error i removed the

line that was a problem in the web.config (ISS show the line number).

start the browser navigate to localhost/dotnetnuke URL

Choose the auto install.

after that i clicked on every icon in ISS again and removed the lines with error again.

Finish.. It now runs perfect on vista with SQL Database Fil or SQL Express
and it work in integrated mode default pool.

I used DNN 4.8.2 install and Source versions both worked for me.

sorry for my poor english

MVH

Re: Setting up DotNetNuke on Windows Vista

I've posted a recent version of an article on building the Source version of DNN on Vista here: http://codemunki9.blogspot.com/2008/04/building-and-running-dotnetnuke-482.html

I've done this build on Vista 64-bit with Visual Studio 2005 SP1, SQL Server 2005 and DotNetNuke Source 4.8.2.

Re: Setting up DotNetNuke on Windows Vista

I also just recently posted an article on this topic on my website.  I tried to make the tutorial easy to follow with lots of screenshots.  Hope it helps anyone out there having difficulty getting DNN up and running on Vista.
