Re: Starter Kit 4.08.01Hangs on Database Scripts

When you create a new DNN install, don't run it from Visual Studio the first time. Create a vitural directory in IIS and open the site in the install mode by typing in the correct url, such as http://localhost/MyDnnWebSite/Install/Install.aspx?mode=install, that will kick off the installation process. If you run it from within Studio the first time the database scripts will fail, you can navigate to the Install directory and set the Install.aspx as the start page and run it from Visual Studio again and then it will run the Database scripts. You'll need to set the startup page back to the Default.aspx page after the process is completed.

Here is a link with all the detail........http://www.mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/119/Installing-DotNetNuke-455-Locally.aspx

Re: Starter Kit 4.08.01Hangs on Database Scripts

Thanks Burldo

I was running as a File based app and therefore not via IIS but from thinking through what you had donet I changed the URL when the app started to /appdir/Install.aspx and that worked also.
