Install Wizard launches sometimes after install 

hello, I have DNN 04.08.01 installed and it appears to function correctly for the most part. I have built the site, added all the content... cool.

Now, while in Visual Studio when start debugging the DNN Installation Wizard is launched prompting me to install DNN. This does not happen all the time say perhaps 1 in 5 attempts.

Why is this happening? Is there a value in the web.config that needs to be changed?

It's not a bug or anything like that, but just DNN doing its job. If the portal's database isn't reachable for some reason, DNN thinks that it needs to install one.

We have the same problem since yesterday on our test servers, DNN version 4.8.2. What do you mean be reachable for some reason? For me it is a bug.

I've seen it happen when IIS & Sql Server are running on the same dev box and resources are low. I've also seen it occur when DNS wasn't enabled properly within the network. If DNN can reach the database server, but not the database, it kicks into install mode.

Next time it happens, hit the site again and it will probably come up OK.
