First Time Install

I just installed a full (not an upgrade) version of the latest DNN (localhost/DotNetNule_2/) on Windows XP.  Everything seemed to be fine until I clicked the link to take me to the website.  Now I'm in an infinite loop (the browser is trying to re-direct).  Is this related ot PortalAlias?  Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

This is exactly my problem also. I used the 4.8.3 sources, and did the install accodring to the doco. The installation seemed to go fine, but when I tried to go to the website, it sat for 2 hours trying to render the home page.
