Hi all

My machine's local IP address is 192.168.169.8. I have installed DotNetNuke successfully. When I am entering http://localhost/dnn/, it is showing the page.

But when I am entering IP address instead of localhost, i.e. http://192.168.169.8/dnn/default.aspx,  url is converted into http://localhost/dnn/ and the page is being displayed.  For my machine it is no problem. But when I am trying to check  from another machine (  located in LAN), entering the address http://192.168.169.8/dnn/default.aspx , no page is displayed.  As the address is being converted  to http://localhost/dnn/ , and there is no such page in that machine.   I am able to check all my asp.net pages from other machine. This problem  occurs only for DotNetNuke pages. How can I see my DotNetNuke site from another machine ?

Thank You.

You will need to add a second portal alias for the 192.168.169.8 IP.

Under Admin -> Site Settings when logged in as host you will see Portal Aliases.  Click "Add HTTP Alias"  Then put in

192.168.169.8/dnn

You will then be set to go!

Hi Mitch

Thanks for your reply. But actually I have forgotten to write that I have done the same what you have told. In my Portal Aliases module, I have two HTTP Alias i)localhost/dnn  ii)192.168.169.8/dnn/default.aspx.  First one is default and I have added the second one. I can delete the second one but cannot the first one.  If I could delete the first one, then I think I could access the page from other machine.  Now when I am  trying to access the page entering the second adderss  from other machine, it is being converted into the first address.  This type of conversion never occurs for general asp.net pages.  Please help.

If you have your second portal alias with DEFAULT.ASPX on the end, remove that part of it.

You can't delete the alias you are currently accessing the website from, that's why you can't delete localhost/dnn from the list.
