Server2008, SQL2008, does it work?

Hi all,

I have a new server coming together in a couple of days that I'll be putting a fresh install of Windows Server2008 and SQL Server 2008.

This server is being put together primarily as a DNN server.

I have never installed DNN before and don't care what version I start with.

I've read and searched around and can't find any step-by-step guides for a 2008 install.

The forums seems to have posts about issues with both Server2008 and SQL 2008.

So, can it be done?  Are there guides/install docs for a 2008 install?

Thanks in advance,

BB

Re: Server2008, SQL2008, does it work?

(I'm replying becuase I don't see an ability to edit my first post :P)

Just wanted to clarify something.

I won't be developing on that computer/installation.

I will be installing DNN and developing on a separate machine.  I'm hoping to only make updates to the server insatll version via admin/host accounts and installing modules.

Cheers

Check the Vista install guide for help on Server 2008/IIS7.  DNN works fine on Server 2008, I have not tried it on SQL 2008 yet though.  No reason it shouldn't work.

I have installs running on both without any issue!

As Jeff mentioned, you will need to follow Vista installation guides to get through the IIS configuration!
