Re: web.config error - Can someone tell me where to look?

This error message means that you have a web.config improperly in a folder that isn't defined as a web application.  This can mean that you haven't defined your website's folder as a web application in IIS, or that you have a web.config file in a subfolder of your website that needs to be removed.

Hope that helps,

Re: web.config error - Can someone tell me where to look?

Thank you for your information. I'm not really sure what to do next. I used plesk to setup the domain and I did not get any errors that stated there was something wrong, when I was setting up the domain. I layman's terms is the DNN install script telling me my IIS is screwed up?

Re: web.config error - Can someone tell me where to look?

Before assuming that your website is incorrectly configured in IIS, I'd check to make sure that you don't have any extra web.config files in your site.  Is C:\Inetpub\vhosts\coolvibepersonals.com\httpdocs\talent\ the root of your website, or is talent a subdirectory?  If it's a subdirectory, then it shouldn't have a web.config file in it.

Hope that helps,

I believe this is the root of my DNN website.

C:\Inetpub\vhosts\coolvibepersonals.com\httpdocs\Talent

What I did is I changed the name of the DNN zip file to "Talent" after extracting it and then I uploaded the file to my website via ftp. I guess you could say "Talent" is a subdirectory...I think.

I do have two web.config files. However, one is listed as web.config.001 and the other is web.config.
