Hmm.. you do have a few problems.. are you sure it's not permissions.  Are you running dnn 4 or 3?

You know there are some techniques to creating the db locally and then getting it working live. I found that by detaching and attaching the db was more successful than backing up and restoring.

You can modify the web.config file - custom errors to true - rather than remote to give you a few more ideas.
