Been looking at this for hours, trying to figure out what I have set incorrectly.  I'm using the install package for DNN 4.0.2  Unzipped all the files, set the file permissions, updated the web.config according to the installation guide.  I have created the virutal directory in IIS, and set the permissions as directed, and updated the ASP tab to make sure it had ASP 2.xxxx selected. 

But I have obviously missed something.  When I try to navigate to http://localhost/DotNetNuke    (That's the virtual directory name)  I get a not authorized to view the page error http 403.

Any thoughts or suggestions, on what I might have missed, or set up incorrectly?

I'm actually finally getting somewhere.  I decided to unzip the source instead fot he install package.  When i tried to open the solution I got a notice that the web service extensions for asp.net 2.0 were not enabled.

Turns out there was no entry for asp.net 2.0 in IIS.  Maybe I didn't select something when i installed Visual Studio 2005.  Now I'm just down to some database conneciton issues...
