My pleasure.  I just realized there are some typos in the instructions but they are nothing critical.  It was pretty late last night when I typed the steps.

Thanks,

Jose Lopez Portillo

Re: Writen Installation Intrustruction to install using Visual Web Developer Express Ed.
Ok I got it running on my server now.  Had to change the aspnet accound to network service account, and it works on the server

When I go to http://localhost/dotnetnuke  I can view the site with NP.  When I go into the default web site in IIS and change the Default Web Site setting IP Address from (All Unasigned) to the server's IP address of 192.168.0.33 and nav to http://192.168.0.33/dotnetnuke I get a page can not be displayed error.  I have even tired to put the full computer name into the URL (http://win2k3entavserv.CascioMusicCompany.local/dotnetnuke) I still get the error page not found.  When I go to just http://win2k3entavserv.CascioMusicCompany.local  I get the standard This page is under constrution.  I also get that when I http://localhost.

Now when I try and goto http://win2k3entavserv.CascioMusicCompany.local from a differant computer (not the server) I get:

Directory Listing Denied

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

When I  go to http://win2k3entavserv.casciomusiccompany.local/dotnetnuke I get:

No web site is configured at this address, and the website URL changes from http://win2k3entavserv.casciomusiccompany.local/dotnetnuke to http://localhost/dotnetnuke on the computer.

What am I not doing?  Were in IIS is the right configure?  Has any got this to work in this type of intranet setting?
Does the Express Version of SQL have anything to do with it?

I know once I can get the IP addreass to work from other computers in my network, then I can go into the DNS and make a Host "A" record for a name.

Re: Writen Installation Intrustruction to install using Visual Web Developer Express Ed.

Brilliant! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I spend a whole day trying to understand SQL Server (full version) yesterday and this is all I needed.

A few notes:

Point 9, right click & (you forgot to add this:)  select Properties.

Point 6. If IIS (Internet Info Server) is not installed (on Win XP Professional, not Home edition), go to Control Panel | Add-remove programs and Add Windows Components & it is under there)

Point 14: Security, not the one under the new Database, but the one under your Server.
