OK cannot reproduce in 4.6.0 RC1 install version. Check your firewall.

Charles is checking with Shawn about the upgrade icons. It's probably down to the fact that the upgrade service is not switched on yet (and that might not happen until release).

Re: Beta Program FeedBack (4.6 Beta2)

I can't seem to add anything to Gemini, am I just not looking in the right spot?

I'm actually not sure this is Gemini worthy. I'm doing some testing on a local install using vista and IIS7. When trying to edit a role group or a users role I get this error.

Happens in 4.5.5 as well so it's not just 4.6RC

Description: The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that contains a double escape sequence.

Error Code: 0x00000000

Notification: BeginRequest

Module: RequestFilteringModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/webdev/Admin/SecurityRoles/tabid/41/ctl/User+Roles/RoleId/2/Default.aspx

Physical Path: C:\inetpub\WebDev\Admin\SecurityRoles\tabid\41\ctl\User+Roles\RoleId\2\Default.aspx

Logon User: Not yet determined

Logon Method: Not yet determined

Handler: PageHandlerFactory-ISAPI-2.0

Most likely causes:

  • The request contained a double escape sequence and request filtering is configured on the Web server to deny double escape sequences.

What you can try:

  • Verify the configuration/system.webServer/security/requestFiltering@allowDoubleEscaping setting in the applicationhost.config or web.confg file.

More Information...

Server Version Information: Internet Information Services 7.0.

Somehting that needs to be fixed or something I need to work around?

This is a security feature. Do not change this feature unless the scope of the change is fully understood. You should take a network trace before changing this value to confirm that the request is not malicious. If double escape sequences are allowed by the server, modify the configuration/system.webServer/security/requestFiltering@allowDoubleEscaping setting. This could be caused by a malformed URL sent to the server by a malicious user.

Re: Beta Program FeedBack (4.6 Beta2)

That is a known IIS7 specific bug that is already logged in Gemini.  If you replace the "+" symbol in the URL with "%20", then everything works correctly.

Follow the full instructions on the top left hand corner of the page.
You also have an easier ride if you use firefox as your browser rather than IE.

Many thanks...
