Site Registration not working

I have a clean 4.7 install.  All registration functionality was working fine, until this morining.  No setting changes have been made.  User verfication is set to Verified.  When I click on Registration the page hits the server and comes right back without registration.  I am at a loss here and have no idea where to look.  Any help is appreciated.  I welcome anyone to try and register on my site, you will see the issue.  The odd thing is I just saw the saw problem right here on the dotnetnuke.com site.

Re: Site Registration not working

I have solved for the issue above and I thought I would share the issue.  It looks like the generated url was redirecting back to the Account Login location.

I have a page set up, basically a "My Account" page with the User Account module placed on it.  It was only visible to Registered users.  Under Admin | Site Settings | Advanced Settings | Page Management, and then User Page... was pointing to the My Account page mentioned in the previous sentence.  Once I removed the User Page under site settings to reflect <None Specified> and saved, the site Registration page for new users returned to normal.

The question I still have is this.  Why have the User Page setting and have this ability to point to a page if this causes loop redirect for users trying to initially register?

I agree.  Something seems off here.  What's the right way to do this?
