I haven't checked this out but my guess is that it is controlled by the choice to require a valid profile only at login, only at registration, neither, or both. Check the profile settings pages and look for those two tick boxes. If you set it to require a valid profile at registration then I bet you'll get what you're after.

Thanks for the info but, those boxes are checked and they still are not showing up on the registration form. Any other ideas or places I can look?

Update I finally found it did it! Yahoo!!!

I found it in the User.ascx (admin/user) and added this ((<asp:Image  ImageUrl="~/images/required.gif" BorderStyle="None" runat="server"/>)) to both the lbQuestion and answer. Well that solves one problem for now!
