when does it happen - manual / auto / scheduled file sync?

which DNN version are you using?

where are your portal directories located?

Re: Web farm config issues

Sebastian

when dose it happen:  scheduled file sync,  but it happens about 60% of the time..  also no files get sync'd between the servers even when there is no sync error

the version of DNN is 04.06.02

portal directories are located on each server under portals.

I have used the Web server documentation to set it up using the alternate method.  The documentation isnt correct as most of the sets are already part of the DNN config, the setting up the sync is ambiguious and it referes the caching provider SQL scripts that dont exist.

any help please.

Re: Web farm config issues

Did you find any resolution on this issue? I notcied it my logs under General Exceptions. I, however am not running a web farm. This happens on the scheduled file sync.

Re: Web farm config issues

Are you using some form of replication between the actual servers? Since you said you are not using the recommended "File Share" method, this means you need to find a way to synch the servers outside of DNN. The file synchronization task in DNN only synchronizes the database with the file system of the server that initiates the task. What this means is, even if it does run and someone was on web1 and uploaded a file, this file is not available on web2 even though DNN thinks it is. So, to say the least, you need to have some type of replication system handled via windows and not DNN. You also need to set the scheduled task, after that, to point to a single server.
