Master pages/templates in DNN?

Hi, im new to DNN, so this probably sounds like a newbie question. Im a web developer and I always use master pages. Is it possible to create a master page, or some sort of template page in DNN,? i've looked on google and have found vids, but i dont fel like paying for these!

Re: Master pages/templates in DNN?

DotNetNuke uses "skins" and "containers" to style portals and sites.  Look for information about skins and you'll find what you need.

As for creating skins, there are quite a lot of resources floating around:  electronic, books, free, for sale, etc.

Re: Master pages/templates in DNN?

In the current version of DNN, you can export any page as a template. Among other things, this exports page permissions, skin settings, module placement, and to varying degrees, the settings and even content of modules can be included. You have to test this and see if it does what you want. When you create a new page, the templates you make are selectable off a dropdown list. It works pretty well.

I recommend you save yourself months of time and frustration and just pay DNNCreative the price of his subscription and get the videos. It'll be well worth it... and paying for stuff is one of the barriers that one has to overcome with DNN; so you may as well start with something worthwhile.
