Machine key and database

Help! i'm hoping someone out there can explain to me this problem. i had a dnn project on my c: - was using a remote database as my dnn database. i then moved the app from my c: to the webserver - still want that to point to the remove dnn database i was using. however, now i can't login from the webserver app - i changed the machine key in the webserver app's web.config for the webserver....is there somewhere in the database that has the machinekey? not sure why can't log in...

please advise.

thanks,

Mary V.

Re: Machine key and database

More likely the connection string is incorrect for the new location and/or your server can't access the remote database.  Machine keys just affect the encryption of the passwords, but if that's different than what was initially there you would be unable to login as well.
