Re: SQL Express - File v Database?

Thanks Sebastian... starting to really point me in the right direction!

I did change the machinekey (& I think from the top of my head the device key) to the new computer... it does see the site, but I am starting to think one of these keys should not be changed?

Cookies... I am not sure but switching back to the SQL Server database (rather than SQL Express I am trying to link to instead) I am not having any problems.

I didn't have the installer itself show up, but will check over the keys again. Thinking now one of them should not have been changed.

Thanks

Re: SQL Express - File v Database?

Sebastian - Thanks, you pointed me in the right direction.

Surprised it wasn't spotted in my other post!  For whatever reason, I assumed the new DNN installation which looked at SQL Express (not the shared SQL Server) had the new machine keys... but I take it those just link the DNN files to the database, not to the actual "machine" as such which I kinda assumed (database running on different "machine"!)

Cheers for that! Now just to see if it is a improvement on performance, definitely better for control.
