Scheduler event start time?

Hi,

I'm running some sties with DNN4.8.0, and DNN4.6.2. I've been making modifications to the scheduler of the sites. I had a questions though, how do I change th exact time that a scheduled event starts? for instance I want all my search engine indexs to occur at night around 3:00am,. is there a setting? right now I just have it set to once a day, but I believe it occurs in the middle of the day.

Thanks

Re: Scheduler event start time?

Hey Ryan,

In short -- there isn't a setting in which you can set a specific time to run.  You will need to kick the scheduled process of at 3:00AM to get it to start then, and set it for a 24 hour interval. Even then, you can never guarantee that it will start consistently at 3:00 AM - it can certainly "creep around the clock" - because it runs at the specified interval from the last completion time. (I did double check this quickly in a DNN 4.8.1 instance to make sure new functionality hadn't been snuck in - but please correct me if I'm mistaken.)

Here is some more insight on the DNN scheduler - but not about start times: http://www.wwwcoder.com/tabid/68/type/art/parentid/224/site/6401/default.aspx

Take care,

Ian
