How to change the icon on the browsers tab?

Hi, this is novice question:

Every page in my installation uses DNN logo as small icon on the browser's page tab. How do I change the icon? Can I have different tab icons on different pages?

Re: How to change the icon on the browsers tab?

Hi pel,

you have to place a 16x16 icon named favicon.ico on the portal root. As far as i know it is not possible to have one different per page.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Re: How to change the icon on the browsers tab?

Type favicon into google and you will find a bunch of free online sites that will help you make a favicon package.  Some of them will even do animated icons.  The package will give you a 32x32 and a 16x16 icon set.  Place the icon (favicon.ico) in the root directory for each portal you want it to show up on.  Depending on your cahcing, it may take  alittle while for it to appear, but it will.  The favicon will show for every page in the portal.  Example: www.northstarcamaroclub.net you will see a bowtie favicon in the browser that was generated at http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/ I had already had a 32x32 jpeg of what I wanted, so it came out exactly like I expected.  They also give you an animated one that scrolls, but it didn't look right with our image....
