Client side Java, , , Process flow

Can someone point me at where in the docs it shows:

1) where / how to embed Client side Java scripts

2) The 'proper' way to insert data into / access the <head> tag on the server side.

3) How to use <ASP:xxxx> controls in a DNN page

4) And finally, is there a Dummy's guide to the process flow of  the production of a page and where the 'hooks' are so we can modify the output page before sending it to the browser.

Maybe this should have been 4 questions, but I prefer to demonstrate my ignorance in one post rather than emphasise it over four.
