I think Scippy just wants to know if there's an easy way to tell what module is being used on a DNN site without having to go and find the site owner.... like, what forum module is this, or what articles module is that.

There's no tag that says what module is present. Most modules are obvious, but if not, then the only way to tell is to ask, or, when you have enough experience with DNN modules you can often figure it out from things like the paths of links, ID attribute names, and the contents of the module.css, when present. Use Firefox Web Developer addon for viewing all the style sheets easily.
