Clicking login changes the site

Hello we have DNN configured to use our URL at company.edu/dnn and most of the links in DNN seem to function correctly.  But when we try to click on login the site changes to the server name servername/dnn.  How to do we correct this so that when we click on login it company.edu/dnn will get called correcly?  We have all the aliases setup in dnn.  At this time we are only able to login to DNN on the web server and not from any other machine.  Thank you

Re: Clicking login changes the site

Where is your login link coming from, the login link in a skin, or a hardcoded link pointing to the servername?

When you added the proper alias did you reset the application (host/host settings)? Portal Aliases are stored in the cache and generally require a site reload to get new ones added in the cache.

Re: Clicking login changes the site

The link is coming from a skin.  After the aliases have been added a reset has been done in multiple ways.  IIS services on the web server have been restarted, the web.config file has been used.  Also the weird thing is we have a development dnn installation setupin a load balanced configuration with 3 IP's in the aliases only an it works the way we need it to work.  The dev site has DNN 4.5.5 installed.  In the production we have DNN 4.8.2 installed and having lots of problems other then the login link issue.  Breadcrumbs also have a similer issue.  Load balancing doesn't work.  Is there a bug in DNN 4.8.2?  Thank you.

Re: Clicking login changes the site

I have a little more info about this issue.  My dev site is on a Windows 2003 sp2 server my prod site is on a Windows 2003 R2 sp2.  On the dev site when I create an alias to my server IP and click on the login link.  The IP is used in the URL.  On the prod site when I create an alias for the server IP and click on the login link.  The server name is used in the URL.  There is no dns entry for the either of the servers.  So when it tries to use the server name to build the URL it will never work.  I can't add the server name to the DNS because that server will be in the DMZ and the dns will not do us any good for exteranl visitors.  Is there a problem with DNN working on Windows R2 SP2?

Re: Clicking login changes the site

I have found a solution to my problem.  This was caused by Microsoft's IP address leak fix.  We have removed the fix and now our site works the way it is supposed to work.
