"Register" button in module, not skin? 

Hi all,

I have a skin which has the standard link/button for "Login" and "Register" at the upper right, both work great.

What I want to do is to add a block of text on the home page that says something like:  "Signup for our Newsletter:" with a button that would either take them to their user profile page (if they are already signed in) or to the registration page if they are not.  This is exactly the behavior that the control in the skin is doing, I just want to put it in the body of an HTML module in the middle of my content pane.

Is there a way to do this?
