  The suggestion of deleting and recreating the folder led me to simply upload on of the .template folders into the Template folder, even though the file was there when looking at in on the server.  I was rejected uploading because I did not have .template the File Upload Extensions list.  Added it there, then sucessfully uploaded the template, once I uploaded it, the other .template file already in that folder appeared as well.  Plus the one I put into the Temp folder.  They are now available when I do a new page creation too.

Thanks for the input.

You are welcomed.

I guess your problem is that you didn't check the "Recursive" checkbox when synchronizing. "Recursive" means that all sub-folders will be synchronized as well, including your template files. Otherwise, only your Portal Root is sync.
