301 redirect

Hi there, we have a website in html running fine. We have now decided to move to DNN and should launch shortly. However, we are yet to figure out how the 301 re-directs should be set.

Is this something which can be doen through a module in DNN?

We have already sent our large number of links to our clients with the html links in them. Please advise what is needed....

Thanks.

Re: 301 redirect

Hey Mujahed,

You may want to redirect the specific pages that you sent out links to in IIS. Here is a link (somewhat old but that has some relevant IIS screenshots) for how to redirect a site and how to redirect a page. http://www.mcanerin.com/EN/articles/301-redirect-IIS.asp

Also, I always recommend people look into the products offered by Snapsis and IFinity when they are thinking about URL management. Keeping in mind that these are just the companies that I'm familiar with, I'm sure there are other alternatives as well.

Take care,

Ian
