Is it a Bug? (About Portal Alias)

I installed DNN 4.8.2, then upgraded to 4.8.4.

Then created a child portal.

After creating it, logged in as child portal admin and created a few pages with content. Logged out.

Logged in as Host and logged out.

Somehow, portal sometimes does not display child portal alias at url.

For example:

www.domain.name.com/childportalalias/Photos/tabid/4452/language/en-US/Default.aspx

www.domain.name.com/Photos/tabid/4452/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Can someone tell me it is a bug or it happens because of design?

Re: Is it a Bug? (About Portal Alias)

I reported this one a while back and was told that it was there by design.

I can't recall why.....but I did log it in Gemini and the issue was closed....so you might have a look there...

Re: Is it a Bug? (About Portal Alias)

I thought so too, but it musn't be by design since search engines will think that those pages are from main website, but actually they are from child portal. I believe this issue was happening with previous releases once ago.

Could someone provide at least a temporary solution on this. I am about to pull my hairs and couldn't understand why it happens sometimes.
