How do I migrate 4.8 site and database to another 4.8 server?

I would like to thank everyone in advance for helping me. I am new to DNN development and I love the platform...except for one thing. I'm probably missing something because DNN seems so well thought out in every other area except deployment. I created a site using 4.8 on my development notebook with SQL 2005. I need to move the site to a hosting company and can't find any steps or directions that tell me how to take my site and move it to the new environment. It looks like many people rebuild sites from scratch in order to move them and that seems horribly inefficient and probably a huge mistake.

Can anyone help me understand how to do this or point me to some insructions? Are there any utilities that simply package a site and move it?

Thank you!

LJB

there is a pinned post in the "Install it!" forum, that explains in detail, how to add the new portal alias, backup your database and restore it on the target database soerver as well as copying all files from one server to another.
