Personally, I avoid using flash except for specific design elements. Reason being, it adds to your overall developement time, maintenance time, and still carries the possiblity that a visitor won't have it installed or upgraded. Recently, Google has announced that they will be able to crawl flash movies, however I'd still shy away from it's use except where explicitly required.

I am with the above posters on the recommendation of not using flash.

Personally there are many JS libraries out there that you can do, modal popups, or dynamic display areas.  Those might be your best bet.

Otherwise, you might be able to accomplish a similar effect using Mandeeps Live Content module.
