have a look into the default resourcefiles  (*.aspx.resx)  inside the /desktopmodules/forums/app_localresources folder, maybe you installed a mispackages language pack, which overwrote default language text.

I only used the language packs that come with DNN.  I have not installed a 3rd party language pack.  Im using DeliSoft and Magic Content modules.  Im translating all pages by hand, lol.

maybe you accidently overwrote the original resource files during translation. reinstall forums module should replace those with original files.
