Re: Rewriting URLs

Thanks all! Indeed, the .html is a very minor issue that, in all honesty, after some explanation and education will not be an issue for the client.

Thanks again!

Re: Rewriting URLs

Hi,

How I can modify or configure the DNN menu (Navigation control) so it use the friendly name of the page to show the page.

For example:

You have created a page which having tabid = 120. You have also added a friendly url rule in HostSettings => Friendly Urls (SiteUrls.config). While creating the page you have checked the "Include In Menu?", so the page link will shown in DNN menu.

Problem is the when I click the page link in menu it uses the URL with tabid instead of that the friendly name of the should be used.

That mean when I link the page link in menu it redirects to www.website.com/contactus/tabid/120/default.aspx instead of www.website.com/ContactUs.aspx.

Is it possible to achieve the aforementioned functionality using Friendly Url or Request Filter?

Can we write rule to change the traditional url (Url with tabid) to friendly one.

Please help if anyone have some working script or ideas on how to implement this.

Thanks,
Mahesh

Re: Rewriting URLs

Personally, I use a module called PageBlaster that takes care of this.  You simply tell it to look for certain values such as your non-SEO friendly URL and replace it with the friendly one.

It also speeds up your site with its built in compression and caching.
