Re: Add field in register form

We are also trying to change the "Preferred User Information" not the "manage profile properties". Our situation is we need to identify the user and associate the user to a company or corporation name so our "administrators" will know exactly who is trying to register and allow access or deny the registration. This will keep competitors from gaining access to our "hidden" information. I beleive this is what Steve is wanting to change.

This would be a good option to have in the next version of DNN.

Thanks,

Kyle

Yibi,

I have just been through the process of setting up a custom registration form myself, and Camerons advice is correct.

If you want the custom profile fields to show up on your registration form, you need to ensure that the option "Require a valid Profile for Registration:" is checked under Admin -> User Accounts -> User Settings.

There is a very useful guide to the whole process on the DNNCreative site at this URL: http://www.dnncreative.com/Tutorials/DNNTutorialsforAdministrators/ManageProfileProperties/tabid/280/Default.aspx

Hope that helps

Steve

I was actually trying to add few more fields to registration page. I followed your steps. Now I can see all of the profile properties in the Registration itself.

But the main Problem is, "First Name"  "Last Name"  fields appear twice. Once due to being part of original registration page and second time due to profile.

Is there way we can control only selected fields to appear in Registration page?

One workaround is to remove (hide) the name fields from the profile.  The user credentials still require a First Name and Last Name, so you can rely on thos

Re: Add field in register form

That sort of works, except you lose Prefx and Sufix.

Is there any way Prefix and Suffix can be added to the initial name area , but still allowed to be set to Visible or Required instead of under a NAME Category.
