Error: Schedule is currently unavailable.

DNN 4.6.2

When attempting to enter/view Schedule, the following error occurs: Error: Schedule is currently unavailable.

When I noticed today that new post email notifications were not coming from Forum Module 4.4.3, I thought to check the job(s) that handle queueing post notifications in Schedule. But I cannot view Schedule without getting this error.

I have met the same problem before. I have to open database and delete all schedule history record. And then it works.

Re: Error: Schedule is currently unavailable.

to clear Schedule History from UI. login as host user and go to SQL in host menu. Enter

TRUNCATE TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}ScheduleHistory

into the textbox and execute

Re: Error: Schedule is currently unavailable.

Thank you for the pointer to a solution.

My installation had nearly 10,000 dbo.ScheduleHistory records.

I tried to use SQL Mangement Studio Express to: Open Table > (highlight all records) (right-click) Delete

... but the system hung for minutes, probably not able to delete all those marked records.

So I used this method to clear all dbo.ScheduleHistory records:

Host > SQL

DELETE FROM {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}schedulehistory

Run as Script (enable) > Execute

Thanks, S.

If TRUNCATE TABLE is a much better approach than DELETE FROM, (and I wouldn't know) - maybe you can say here why one approach is better than the other.

BTW: Is there a DNN setting where we can control the number of ScheduleHistory records that get written, before the history is overwritten, or the log is cleared, etc. - so the problem doesn't surface again?
