Events Module - Tag full events 

I'm making a site for my local recreation department. I'm trying to set it up so bitty ball coaches can schedule a gym for practices. It's all going pretty good except I'd like to be able to display an icon, show the event name in red, etc. to show the logged on user that the event is full (the gym is booked). Is there an easy way to do this? Also, is there a way to list the enrolled users? It wouldn't be terribly difficult to extend the Event module to do these things but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something simple before I started customizing the stock module.
