Browser hangs indefinitely when idle on our DNN site for > 1 min 

I have the weirdest problem and I hope someone out there can help.  We have a development DNN site under construction and I have been frustrated for some time with frequent indefinite hangs.  The hangs appear to occur after I have not done anything on a DNN page for approx 1 minute.  Either the hang is permanent (never responds again - no timeout message, just doesn't respond), or waits excessively long (> 2-3 mins) before responding.  If I use the DNN portal constantly, then it works just fine.

I am at a loss to resolve this problem, but clearly I need to do so before launch date.

O/S: Windows Server 2003/IIS6, SQL Server 2005. Browser IE 7.  DNN 4.8
