How to set up your own icon in the url bar

When you open your site in a browser the defualt DotNetNuke icon will be displayed in the url address bar or in the tab itself if it is a tab enabled browser.

So I wanted to change this icon to my own one.

Follow the steps bellow.

1. Create the icon you want and name it as "favicon.ico"

2. Copy the above named icon into "../Portals/0" folder

Now you will see the new icon inplaced.( Clear the cache if you didnt see the change at the first time )

Re: How to set up your own icon in the url bar

Hello,

I have read that the "favicon.ico" must be 16x16 pixels (http://www.fileinfo.net/extension/ico).  Do you know if this is correct?

Thanks!-GS

Re: How to set up your own icon in the url bar

I tried to follow the same procedure but unable to succeed. Please guide me. How to clear clear cache. I don't have direct access to the root folder. All the access that i have is through dnn site's host/admin options.
