Upgrade vs Install Files 

Hi all,

I understand the differences between the Install.zip and the Upgrade.zip files. However, in a previous post, I asked which of the 2 I should use for an upgrade from DNN 3.3.7 to 4.4.1; I has told the Install. Why not the upgrade?

For an upgrade of a live site from 3.2.2 to 3.3.7, should I also use the Install.zip file?

There are two differences between install and upgrade versions.

The install version includes a web.config file, this can be a bad thing if you don't backup your existing file first

The install version also includes updated core modules, and some will install on upgrade.  I personally see this as a benefit as it helps speed up the upgrade process.

I use the install package for ALL upgrades.
