Question regarding Page/Module permissions?

I have a page that I want everyone to see.  I want to put a text module on that page that states you must be a registered user to see the contents of the page - this module I only want them to see if they are not logged in or registered.  Once they login or register, I want that module to disappear and then other modules to appear that have appropriate permissions.  Is this possible to do?

Thanks!

Re: Question regarding Page/Module permissions?

Yes, you should be able to set a module as visible only to unauthenticated users.  In the module's settings, uncheck the Inherit Permissions from Page checkbox, and then check only the Unautenticated Users View permission in the permissions grid.  This should make the module visible only the admins and anonymous users, but not visible to other authenticated users.

Hope this helps,

Re: Question regarding Page/Module permissions?

Ok I figured that much.  My only issue now is that I want three types of users to have views to three different modules.

1) unregistered users only - this works

2) registered users (doesn't matter what groups they are in but they are not in group 3) - this works

3) registered users AND user of group - this gives me results for 2 and 3 and not just 3.  Otherwise they can see the registered users module, but they can see the registered group module as well.  How do I make it so that they can't see the registered users module when they can see the third module?  Is there a way to do this?  I have the registered users group unchecked btw already....

Thanks,

Re: Question regarding Page/Module permissions?

You have to create a new role, and put in it those users you don't want that they see the registered users module.Grant view permissions to the 3rd module to that role.

hope this help

Re: Question regarding Page/Module permissions?

I have done that, the problem is that they can still see the registered users module.  Just because they have seperate permissions all registered users are part of the same registered users group.

This is what you see when you are not registered.

You are registered, but not part of the right group.

YOU ARE REGISTERED AND PART OF THE RIGHT GROUP!!

these are examples of the 3 modules that I have.  the first is for unregistered users, second for registered users not part of the role, and third for registered users part of the role.  The issue I am having is that when the third group that is registered and part of the group, they can still see the second group as well.   How would i fix this?
